When I started this business ten years ago, I had no idea where I would be right now. I just had a camera in my hand and a dream in my heart. Since then, I have had the distinct privilege of photographing weddings, pregnancies, newborns, toddlers, families, seniors, proms, birthday parties, and so much more. I have had the chance to be a part of people’s lives during their most important moments. What an honor to capture such precious memories with my camera.
From the very beginning, I had a dream of one day opening a studio. A place to photograph, a place to meet with clients to plan and dream, a place to help my clients create their memories and put them on paper. My husband and I had planned on starting the process of looking for a space in a few years when our youngest was in 5 day preschool or kindergarten. It is interesting how God sometimes has other plans…
A few weeks ago, my husband and I got a rare opportunity to have a few hours without kids. It just happened to be a beautiful day, so we decided to go wander around downtown Jonesborough. Every time I walk those streets, I imagine my dream studio. I have always loved Jonesborough and have always said I would have a studio there one day. On our date, we happened upon a great new store called Type A Designs. I bought a couple of things for my business and we started a conversation with the owner. To make a long story short, she called me the following Monday to discuss an opportunity to pursue my dream of a studio in downtown Jonesborough…and I am so excited to announce that I will be opening my doors in May 2016!
It is my dream space…. Hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, beautiful details, and a chance to work with an amazing store owner, Amber Hopson. I encourage you to visit her store at 123 East Main Street. I cannot wait to share this space with all of you and create more images for you to treasure!
